Coffee roasting skills are important as they add value, develop coffee flavour and aroma. With the right skills, coffee entrepreneurs can experiment with different roast profiles and blending techniques to create unique and distinctive coffee offerings highlighting the coffee potential and suiting customer expectations on quality and taste.
As one part of the MARKUP project objectives to boost value addition, this training ties in to boosting local consumption of coffee providing a complementary market for coffee producers to coffee exports.
The training was held at the Rubia Coffee Roasters in Kigali by Asli Yaman founder of KiMMAA in Istanbul, Türkiye.
