The EU-EAC MARKUP II - is a regional development initiative that promotes economic growth in the East African Community (EAC) through private sector development and export promotion.

It seeks to enhance sustainable and inclusive intra-African trade, pan-African trade, and trade with the European Union (EU).

As one of the regional intervention under the larger EU-Africa Trade Competitiveness and Market Access Programme (ATCMA), MARKUP II supports the intergration of SMEs into regional priority value chains and enhance market access with the following expected results:

Enhanced capacities of SMEs to advocate for removal of trade barriers

Improved compliance with Quality Standards in the region

Improved value chain review mechanism

Enhanced export competitiveness for SMEs in the selected sectors

Strengthened business capacities and export skills for SMEs in the selected sectors
