Investment Facilitation and Promotion activities for South Sudan

The purpose of this note is to explain how the activities will be carried out in South Sudan, starting with a mission in October 2024.The objectives of the mission are:

  1. Sensitize relevant stakeholders on international best practices, including the World Trade Organization (WTO) Investment Facilitation for Development (IFD) Agreement with the aim of enhancing capacities of stakeholders.
  2. Gather information for an investment self-assessment through consultation with Business Support Organisations (BSOs), Investment Promotion Agencies (IPAs), policymakers and other relevant stakeholders, including the EABC.
  3. Gather the information necessary to conduct investment climate mapping and sector-specific research through desk research and stakeholder consultations.
  4. Gather information specific to 2 sectors (coffee and packaging) for development of investment profiles.
