EU – ITC witness an example of MARKUP success.

Over the years, the company successfully introduced over 20 products to the market, ranging from Spanish paprika to powdered cloves and nutritious flour. Med Food Arusha supplies its products to the Tanzanian market and exports part of them to countries of the East Africa Community, particularly Kenya.

The EU-EAC MARKUP Programme began supporting Med Foods Arusha in 2019. MARKUP, through the International Trade Centre (ITC), improved the capacity of the company for accessing finance, developing export strategies and improving quality. The project is funded by the European Union.

Today the company has a portfolio of eight spice products, which are locally grown by smallholder farmers. Med Foods has 15 direct employees.
